As a pastor for more than 20 years, Rev. Burgess has overseen properties valued at more than $1,000,000.00. This has included minor repairs, renovations (including ADA updates and changes to electrical and heating systems. She has raised funds for a budgets of more than $150,000 per year and capital campaigns. She has also changed churches from ledger accounting to computer systems.
In previous employment she has performed full charge accounts payable and accounts receivable.
She has raised three sons, all with disabilities, as a single parent, this has included networking with other parents, health care professionals and educational institutions. While juggling work/family and lack of child support. She has held leadership positions in the community, interfaith and ecumenical and interfaith organizations and her denomination. She is devoted to seeing children have all the resources they need to thrive: in physical health, mental health and academic readiness.
